Transitional Kinder?

Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is a early childhood education program that serves as a bridge between preschool and traditional kindergarten. TK program can serve families with children who just miss the age cutoff for kindergarten or who need a bridge year for social, emotional, or academic readiness.

In New York City, children must be five years old by December 31st, to attend kindergarten in the current school year. If your child is not 5 by December 31st 2025, this program is for you and your child!

Our Full-Time Program

5 Days a Week.

Monday - Friday

School Day: 8AM - 2:30PM

Extended Hours: 8AM - 4:30PM

Designed as a bridge between preschool and kindergarten, our curriculum nurtures the whole child—fostering social-emotional growth, foundational academic skills, and a love for learning. Through hands-on exploration, guided play, and meaningful routines, children build confidence, collaboration skills, and readiness for the exciting adventures ahead in school and beyond. Nature-Based, hands-on learning and small class sizes make up the base of all our programs at Brilliant Tots Playhouse.

Language & Literacy

Storytelling, letter recognition, phonemic awareness, vocabulary development and early writing skills.

Mathematics

Counting, sorting, pattern recognition

Simple addition and subtraction with manipulatives.
